Unrestricted internet access- for how long?

There is a growing realization amongst governments that letting people enjoy complete freedom on the Internet is not such a smart move. For starters, autocratic governments are just not interested in letting their people enjoy even the most basic access to Internet without restrictions. Take China as an example. It is prepared to hack into the servers of Google but is not prepared to make changes to its policies to help its population enjoy the best services on the Internet.
